1. develop his love for theatre.

6.remind …somebody … （常与of, to + inf, that连用）使想起；使记起；提醒
e.g. The photos reminded her of her college days. 这些照片使她回想起了大学里的日子

7. lay the foundation of 打下…的基础， 奠定…的基础

10. whale:

12. collision: n.碰撞, 冲突

13. companion: 伴侣；同伴
