II. Important sentences and language points in the text
1. …the class really likes working with her.. 全班同学都喜欢上她的课
这里class 不是指的一个班级，而是表示“大家，全班同学”
这里的working with her, 并不表示“在同一单位一起工作”而是“一起从事教与学活动”
Class 集合名词作主语时，指代的是一个整体，谓语则用单数，指代每一个体，则用复数。类似的集合名词有：team, family, group, crowd, crew, audience, company 等
His family is going to have a long journey. 他们全家都要去旅行。
His family are very anxious about him.。 他们全家都在为他担忧。
2. She avoids making you feel stupid. 她避免使你觉得自己是个笨蛋 。
avoid vt. 避免，躲避（常用搭配：avoid sth. / avoid doing ）
我横穿马路以便避开他,但他看到了我并朝我跑过来。
I crossed the street to avoid meeting him, but he saw me and came running towards me.
To avoid confusion, the teams wore different colors.
为避免混淆,两队分穿不同颜色的衣服
avoidable；可避免的 The accident should have been avoidable if he hadn’t driven so fast.
有些及物动词后，只能用动名词作宾语(不可以跟不定式)，
如：avoid ,hate, appreciate，admit, enjoy, suggest, finish, imagine, delay, mind, put off, risk, practise, miss, escape, excuse, give up, can’t help; can’t stand 等。在本文中出现的还有：
Eg: 我痛恨犯错误或者在说英语时念错词

3．dare vt .aux.v .敢、竟敢
(1) 当dare 用作实义动词时，有人称、数和时态的变化，其后跟不定式，但在否定句和疑问句中，dare后的to常可省略。
Eg: 如果她不要求，我们不敢说一句话。
We don’t dare to say a word unless she asks us to.
He doesn't dare (to) lift his head.他不敢抬头。
(2) 当dare用作情态动词时，多用于否定句、疑问句、条件状语从句. 没有人称和数的变化，其时态只有一般现在时和一般过去时(dared)；否定形式写为daren't。
Eg: 我刚才没敢回答他的问题。
I dared not answer his question just now.
你竟敢指责我撒谎！
How dare you accuse me of lying!
(3)I dare say 为固定短语，“我敢说，也许，可能”，在句中常作插入语，也可作主句。
I dare say things will improve. 我想/我敢说事情会好起来的。

admit sb (to/into sth)准许加入（俱乐部，组织）；接收入学。
The thief admitted his guilt. 贼承认了他的罪行。

Jack admitted the statement was true . 杰克承认这一陈述是事实。
You must admit the work to be difficult. 你得承认这工作是困难的。
Women were admitted to the club only last year.这家俱乐部去年才接纳女会员。
How many students have been admitted to the school this year?今年有多少学生获准入学？

2）with + 宾语 + v-ing / -ed /adj, / adv / prep./ to do 此结构为：with 的复合结构
有孩子一直在隔壁哭，他简直无法工作(with + 宾语 + v-ing)
He really couldn’t work with a baby crying in the next room.
一个下午他都反锁着门在工作着。(with + 宾语 + v-ed )
All the afternoon he worked with the door locked.
因母亲生病在家，我不能去度假(with + 宾语 + adj,)
I won’t be able to go on holiday with my mother ill at home.
John 走了，我们有更大的空间了(with + 宾语 + adv)
With John away, we’ve got more room.
他妻子走下楼来，手里抱着她儿子(with + 宾语 + prep.)

7. I respect him a lot. 我很尊敬他。
1) respect: vt. 尊敬，尊重
We deeply respect him. 我们十分尊敬他。
2) respect :n (U)“尊敬” have /show respect for sb. 尊敬某人
We have been told to show respect for our elders.父母教导我们必须尊敬长辈
3) 尊重、重视某人（的意见）have respect for / to ( sb's opinions)
He had respect to my request very much. 他非常重视我的请求
4) respect n. 作“问候,请安”，要用复数形式，give/send one's respects to sb 代向某人问候
Please give my respects to your parents. 请代我向你的父母致意。
5) respect n.(C) 细节，方面

8. Where discipline and respect for the teacher is considered very important
1) consider + n. / doing sth 考虑做某事
